September is shaping up to be an exciting month for my band Black Bridge. We have finished recording and mixing our official debut album at Sonic Palace Studio featuring 8 new tracks I’m very proud of. It’s amazing what my acoustic demos have turned into with some solid backing behind them. The final mixes are currently being mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden, who mastered the last two Black Keys albums as well as the Shins' last album. Look for the album to hit iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify by mid-September.
Speaking of September…we submitted one of these tracks and were chosen for a high-profile battle of the bands competition of sorts ….except with a twist. It's a new reality TV show pilot that is pitting bands against each other in an American Idol-like format. Who knows if it'll get picked up but they’ll be recording the entire event, doing interviews, publicity pictures, “celebrity” judges…the whole nine yards. All we need is our fans to come cheer us on. That's where you guys come in.
We’ll be performing an hour long set beginning at 9:00 on Friday September 14th at Shark City in Glendale Heights.
Glendale Heights? Where is that? If you live near the city it doesn’t matter…come join us on the Booze Cruise. We’re getting a good old-fashioned yellow school bus to charter us from a meeting spot in the city (TBD) to the venue and back. The bus will leave at 7PM and have us back at midnight. Depending on numbers, the bus plus booze and a ticket to the show will only set you back $20-$25/person. If you plan on driving on your own, we have tickets available for $7 or they’ll be available at the door for slightly more.
Please pass this invite along and be sure to RSVP if you’re coming as soon as you can so we can figure out the details.
So whether you were there way back when we used to hang out at the infamous "Black Bridge" or you're coming to see us for the first time, I look forward to seeing you all soon!
